Founded in 1830, the Royal Geographical Society has played a pioneering role in the advancement of geography and exploration, in the course of which the RGS has published countless maps to illustrate new discoveries. The RGS archives in London boast a collection of over two million items, tracing 500 years of geographical discovery and research.
