Join William Lindsay OBE — the first foreigner to walk the entire length of the Great Wall of China — for an extraordinary long weekend exploring one of the world's greatest wonders and the cultural heart of Beijing.
William's farmhouse sits directly on the Great Wall in a remote, unrestored section far from the tourist crowds. Here you'll experience the Wall as few ever have: sleeping within its ancient stones, hiking along crumbling watchtowers at sunrise, and hearing first-hand stories from the man who has dedicated his life to its conservation and exploration.
Arrive at Beijing Capital Airport and transfer to William's farmhouse, perched right on the Great Wall. Settle in, explore the immediate surroundings, and enjoy dinner with your host as the sun sets over the mountains.
A full day hiking along the Wall with William as your personal guide. Traverse unrestored sections, explore crumbling watchtowers, and learn the history and legends of this 2,000-year-old fortification. Lunch on the Wall with panoramic views.
Transfer back to downtown Beijing and check into a luxury restored Hutong Courtyard Hotel. Explore the historic hutong alleyways, visit the Forbidden City or Temple of Heaven, and enjoy a farewell Peking duck dinner.
This experience is hosted personally by William Lindsay OBE, author of "Alone on the Great Wall" and one of the foremost authorities on the Great Wall. The farmhouse is rustic-luxurious — expect comfortable beds, home-cooked meals, and an atmosphere of genuine adventure.
